The TURTLE FOOT FOUNDATION was established to raise awareness and bring kids and their families together to relieve the footprint we are leaving on our environment.

To inspire, excite and educate kids to help out the environment. Together with their family and friends kids will take action, have fun and make a difference!

 

DID YOU KNOW

 

Sixty-five million years ago the Leatherback Turtle wandered the Earth beside dinosaurs, mammoths and hundreds of other ancient species who were prone to natural disasters. Yet it survived and prospered for millions of years until the rise of the human.  Today the Pacific Leatherback Turtle is the world's most endangered sea turtle. In the past twenty years the adult females' numbers from the shores of Costa Rica have plummeted from 1500 to 60 and continue to fall unless we do something.

1989- 1370 Leatherbacks nested on Playa Grande 

2006- 125 Leatherbacks nested on Playa Grande

2007- 57 Leatherbacks nested on Playa Grande

- The publishing industry is the larges consumer of water and #1 water polluter in the world.

- Paper and packaging is the #1 contributors to landfills.

- The #1 way to reduce our carbon footprint is switching from virgin paper to recycleable paper.
